This gnome hockey player is the goalie on his team and is named for "Gump" Worsley whose illustrious career is especially associated with his playing time with the NY Rangers. Players were instructed to always wear a helmet, but "Gump" was exempt from that order under the Grandfather Clause. Therefore, Gump was the last man in major league hockey (in the 1950's and 60's) to be allowed to play without a helmet.

This gnome has on leg guards (leaves) and carries a hockey stick that he made himself. On his jersey is a replica of a USA stamp which honors the sport of hockey (appropriately enough, it features a goalie!) Our Gump is such an expert goalie that he has actually stopped the puck by standing on it!
